SMS Text Messaging Program

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Pest Desk is software used by pest control companies to run their own business. Through Pest Desk, a pest control company sends SMS text messages to its own customers about services that company has scheduled. Pest Desk does not send SMS messages to the general public, and does not use SMS for marketing or promotional purposes.

What messages are sent

  • Appointment reminders
  • Technician “on the way” notifications
  • Invoice and payment due notices
  • Post-service review requests

Sample messages

“Hi {First Name}! Your {Service Type} appointment is scheduled for {Date} at {Time}. {Technician Name} will be your technician. Reply STOP to opt out.”

“Hi {First Name}! Invoice {Invoice Number} for {Amount} is due on {Due Date}. Please contact us to arrange payment. Reply STOP to opt out.”

How consent is collected

A pest control company's customer agrees to receive these text messages directly from that company, verbally or in writing, at the time service is scheduled. Staff at that company then record the consent inside the Pest Desk app, on the customer's contact record, using the exact screen shown below. The checkbox is unchecked by default and is never pre-selected — no text message is sent to a customer until it has been explicitly checked.

There is no other way to enroll a phone number for SMS messaging — it is never collected through a public sign-up form, and Pest Desk itself never initiates SMS enrollment on a business's behalf.

Message frequency, rates & opt-out

Message frequency varies based on the services scheduled for you. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages, or HELP for help. You can also opt out by asking the pest control company directly.
